One of my biggest inconveniences of being a dog owner is bathing them in the winter months. See, I am in Ohio and during most normal winter months we have upwards of a foot of snow on the ground with freezing temperatures so there is no outside option to bath them. So, to make my life even more hectic once a month I take my 85 lb Lab Husky Mix to the groomers and pay $30 for them to shampoo, condition, spray this deodorizer spritz on him, and brush his hair. Now that I have my Chloe, who is a 45 lb Border Collie/ Boxer Mix puppy, this will cost me double the time, double the money, and double the aggravation! So my alternative were to just let them smell bad, let them bathe in our bathtub, or find a wonderful grooming kit that works! You can imagine I chose alternative number three and headed out to our local department store where I ended up purchasing two different leave in / dry shampoos which were both epic fails. My husband told me that I needed to purchase a product like this at a Pet Store so he picked me up another alternative and it worked really well until I found the receipt on the table for $50 plus tax! It didn't work that good and it only came with 5 oz of both shampoo and conditioner and a small spray bottle of water down odor spray that you use in between treatments that smelled like a pine tree. After doing a little research I found John Paul Pet Products and it immediately had my attention considering Paul Mitchell has spent his life improving women's hair why not dogs!
Once I received the John Paul Grooming Kit to review I immediately had a team of helpers to keep our Husky Mix, Fred, in his place. Surprisingly, he just laid down in front of me and allowed me to brush away all the excess hair with the grooming brush, which reminded me more of a hairbrush for us ladies than for dogs! The second step was the Water-less Foam Shampoo which I massaged into his skin. Fred wasn't as happy about this stage until we got to the massaging and brushing part again! Once that was finished we let him dry normally and waited to do the final step which was the Oatmeal Conditioning Spray which you is applied simply by spraying it on to your dog as the name suggests. Such a clean fragrance too! I couldn't believe that in a matter of a half an hour (with a lot of down time) my dog was clean and happy! Chloe our puppy loved every step of the process but with her being a puppy she tried to eat every step as well!
I am so happy that I took the time to keep researching alternatives to the groomers! I am saving a lot of money and my dog doesn't smell like a huge peppermint stick when he comes home either. Overall, I am overly impressed with his line of shampoos and conditioners and will continue to use them!
John Paul Pet Products can be purchased from these major retailers and prices range from $10.00 and up. For new product announcements, specials, and up to date news follow John Paul Pet Products on Facebook and Twitter.
