Honestly, it might as well have been Christmas here the day my husband received the Outfitter 4600 Ultra Light Frame Backpack fromTeton Sports to review! He opened every flap, unzipped every zipper, and demonstrated each feature to me. He filled it with camping items and unfilled it. He wore it around the house and even modeled it for me (which NEVER happens!)~ he literally reminded me of a kid that just received his most asked for Christmas present! My husband spends a lot of time outside doing things like camping, mountain biking, and hiking so this review was right up his alley.
My husband took is job very seriously as the lead reviewer and jotted down notes about the pros and cons of this backpack. I will have to say the pros list was a whole page while the cons were a total of two items~ impressive for him since I find him to be, at time, overly critical of products. Teton Sports claims this backpack to be designed for those hiking trips when you need to carry a lot but you don't want to hurt your back and sure enough the design of the backpack along with it's frame does distribute the weight nicely to prevent back pain. The Lumbar supports also help with giving your back the necessary support as well.
The Back pack holds so much of what you will need to do an overnight camping trip or hiking trip. Easily accessible pockets give you the liberty to store things that you may need in a hurry or things you use the most often. The best feature for me was the ability to open the backpack from the top and bottom so no digging is required to find what you need.
Finally, there were two negatives to this backpack according to my husband. He felt the backpack should be available in different colors as he was not a fan of the blue and would have preferred it in a gray or even black. His main concern was the durability of the product which we can't test with only having the backpack a short few weeks. We could tell the backpack was well made but the material used was unfamiliar to him from what he has seen on other back packs.
Overall our review of the product: Compared to other sports products the Outfitter 4600 is priced much lower than competitive bags but kept the features and quality of their competitors which impressed us. Hands down we would purchase this bag again if we needed a second bag!
My Husband showing the size of the bag~ this bag is filled with two full size sleeping bags, clothing, and tons of other camping gear! He was extremely impressed with the amount of space!
Impressed with the lumbar supports which gave him unexpected comfort while moving. He was also impressed with the several different pouches and compartments and the accessibility of these areas.
