Normally it takes a lot to impress me but I am huge on anything that will let my kids know that I am thinking of them when I can't be there. I have a very independent six year old at home named Hannah and a four year old that would rather be attached to my hip then anywhere else (well maybe her dad's hip too) so it's very hard to find something that works for both children. My oldest thinks the things my youngest likes is childish and my youngest is developmentally delayed so she doesn't quite grasp the same things that other four year old children do so finding LunchHugs has been a blessing.
The first day I handed the cards to the girls (and my niece Nikki who gets the bus at my house) and told them to wait until lunch time to open them or if you need a little hug from mommy before lunch. All the kids came home excited to tell me that they loved the cards.. in fact my oldest daughter's teacher thought they were the cutest things he has seen in a long time. My daughter's preschool teacher told me that Addison's behavior became much more upbeat since I started giving them to her. I give Addison all the mushy "I love you bunches" cards while my six year old Hannah gets all the jokes and word games.
So what exactly are LunchHugs? They are cute little cards that you put into your kids lunches or in their backpacks that your kids take to school to brighten their day. Some have puzzles, jokes, or left blank for you to leave a handwritten note. Each box comes with 10 different cards, envelopes, and stickers. They retail for around $3.99 a box plus shipping. The best thing about LunchHugs is that they truly are the perfect way to letting your child know that you are thinking about them when you can't be there- which is so important!
